DAVIDEON was privately founded in February 2008 by an experienced Law Enforcement Forensic Video Analyst.

He has 30 years of law enforcement experience, 20 years of which had been within Forensic Identification Services, of which the last 7 years had been strictly performing Forensic Video Analysis for the
Winnipeg Police Service. He has been declared an expert witness by the courts in Forensic Video Analysis on several occassions. Similarily, he has been declared an expert witness in Fingerprint Identification.

The law enforcement office from which he retired, receives and analyzes the CCTV security video that has recorded crimes-in-progress. Work in this discipline uses specialized forensic non-linear editing computers to process and analyze both analogue and digital video. Enhancement techniques are used to produce clarified video and still-images of suspects for investigative and court presentation.

As the end user of CCTV System videos, he became acutely aware of degrading-quality issues when the transition began from well maintained VHS tape systems, switching over to some of the digital based CCTV systems.

He developed DAVIDEON in response to this proliferation of digital systems that are not meeting expectations in many instances. This is an opinion that is commonly shared in his profession.

As this new technology is acting like a runaway locomotive, the goal became to educate the customer from the ground-up. The customer drives the industry in the long haul.

Not only are there hundreds of manufacturers, but generic "grey-market" DVR’s are being produced, which although cheap, reflect the quality and should be avoided.

The hope then, is for customers to use our training and experience, and avoid making bad choices when selecting CCTV to secure their surroundings.

NOTE:
In order to be a true Consultant, we believe that you should be independent, and have both training and experience. If we worked for a particular security company, we would be expected to recommend their product-line. How ethical does that consultant become? He simply becomes a salesman. We at DAVIDEON, have no connection to any security company, and offer un-biased evaluation of the CCTV equipment you are interested in. Remember, the technology and reliability is improving every few months, and needs to be re-evaluated to take advantage. A consultant working for a security company with a set product line defeats that philosophy.
